关于铜牛，还有不少有趣的传说了。其中《天上人间话铜牛》最为有趣。晚清贪图享乐的慈禧太后，她把自己比作天上国母王母娘娘。在扩建颐和园时，她曾传下御旨，要将颐和园修成“天上人间”。佛香阁象征天宫，昆明湖好比天河，八方亭和龙王庙一带便是人间了。既然有天宫天河，当然要有牛郎和织女了。为此，她见昆明湖东堤已经安置了铜牛，能够象征牛郎，所以又在石舫的旁边，建起了织女亭。铜牛的身子朝东，头扭向西北，正好冲着织女亭所在方向，以昆明湖(天河)为界，便暗合了牛郎和织女美丽动人的故事传说。
接着走，夺人眼球的便是那十七孔桥，因为石桥有十七个桥洞。它是连接昆明湖东岸与南湖岛的一座长桥，桥栏杆的石柱上雕刻着五百多只姿态不一、栩栩如生的小狮子。它是古代桥梁建筑的杰作。

吃饺子可是春节重要的习俗，看见妈妈早早开始准备包饺子，我也叫着要学包饺子。在妈妈的指导下，我小心地从冰箱里拿出猪肉和洗好的韭菜、胡萝卜，把它们逐个放在案板上。妈妈拿起菜刀，“嚓、嚓、嚓”全部切成丁，剁成泥，放在碗里，加调料：食用盐、鸡精、胡椒粉、食用油，打2个鸡蛋，然后顺着一个方向搅拌起来——就这样，鲜香美味的肉馅儿做好了。
妈妈拿出饺子皮儿，一边包一边对我说：“现在要包饺子了，一定要记住，必须轻轻的包，不然，饺子皮破了，就白白浪费了，看，像我这样，慢慢来。”

在网上公示7136个传统村落中，已有2555个正式进入国家保护的视野，这意味着保护工作上升到国家层面。但可悲的是，即便如此，依旧阻挡不住传统村落的濒危和被破坏。过度商业化，正在侵蚀传统村落。
另一个更令人沉痛的现实是，有些传统村落审定了，但村落的人越来越少，空巢化的逐渐渗透让只有外壳没有内核的传统村落丧失了生命力。
村民追求现代化的都市生活，对传统村落的保护价值缺乏认知和意识。另一方面，截至目前，我国还没有一项专门针对古村落开发与保护的法规条文，加之地方保护缺少行之有效的经验做法。有时候，都只能忍着疼痛，眼睁睁望着传统村落逐步在城镇化进程中走向衰落。
